Design: mockups, components and layout

  1. Pick a tool in the bottom bar (frame, rectangle, text, connector…) and draw on the canvas.
  2. Icons: Assets tab › Icons, over 1,500 Font Awesome icons (solid or outline) to search, click or drag; each becomes an editable path.
  3. Turn a frame into a component to reuse a button or a card: its copies follow its changes.
  4. In the inspector, “Layout” arranges a frame’s items in a row, a column or a grid; “Constraints” sets how they behave when the frame is resized.
  5. Drag on a field’s icon (X, W, H…) to change its value, and double-click a name to rename it.
  6. Export a page or an item as PNG, SVG or PDF with a right-click.
  7. With Figma: copy (⌘C) in one app and paste (⌘V) in the other, both ways; “More actions › Import a Figma file (.fig)” brings in a whole file, page by page.
  8. Also: booleans and masks (right-click), component variants, variables with modes, aliases and formulas (Assets tab › Manage, or the Variable button next to a value in the inspector; JSON import and export), prototype and presenting (▶), rulers (Shift+R), Alt measurements, CSS code in “Inspect”.
